OLI Training Options

Add another member to your staff - OLI!

Taking the leap to OLI technology can be a big step

Allow us to make this easier. In conjunction with sales partners AQSim and SimTech, we offer a variety of training options that are designed to give you the start-up help that you need.

Our roster of training includes regularly scheduled classes at OLI Systems, Inc. (Cedar Knolls, NJ USA) as well as onsite training and regional training held throughout the year.

We work with clients in public trainings on the web, as well as custom web trainings to your specific applications convenient to business hours in your time zone.

Finally, ask about AQSim's new Smart Start with OLI programs. This is a hybrid of a short term license, case setup, and specialized technology transfer designed to deliver your results and get you started with OLI as quickly as possible.

Electrolyte Modeling Basics (EMB)

Offered at OLI, onsite, or regionally

This is a 2-day course designed for an individual who has little or no background in modeling electrolyte systems. The objectives are to provide an overview of speciation and aqueous thermodynamics, training in the use of OLI software to formulate and solve practical problems, and a facility for client feedback on current applications and issues.

The Stream Analyzer is used for the first day of the class, regardless of the particular OLI component that our clients will ultimately use. This is because the Stream Analyzer is the clearest and most direct interface to OLI's electrolyte thermodynamic framework. The second day of the class is tailored to the interests of the participants. Process or corrosion technology may be studied in addition to the basic framework.

Chemistry in Brine Production (CIBP)

Offered onsite or regionally

This is a 1- to 4-day course that covers the important areas of production chemistry encountered by engineers. The course length is variable. For a 1-day course, the lecture takes the majority of time. For longer course lengths, the balance of time is in supervised, application building. Clients are encouraged to bring their own applications. This course was designed by AQSim, OLI's partner company in sales, training, and applications consulting, and is primarily given onsite at your company, or as a 2-day regional training in either Houston or Aberdeen.

MSE Regression

Offered at OLI by request, or onsite at your company

This 3-day class is taught by a senior OLI thermophysical modeler. The class instructs clients in the development of thermodynamic model parameters for the mixed solvent electrolyte framework.
Objectives include to develop new model parameters using experimental data (either from the literature or from proprietary data), to improve existing model parameters, and to create private databanks.

This class is offered by request only. Please allow 6 weeks to 2 months as the earliest that this class can be scheduled. OLI will offer the class to other clients and looks for a minimum of 4 participants.

Electrolyte Modeling Basics - Short Course (wEMB)

Offered online in 2, 3.5 hour sessions

This class is equivalent to Day 1 of the regular Electrolyte Modeling Basics class. The web-based training is interactive and instructor-led by AQSim's process simulation expert AJ Gerbino.

This class is offered 1x per quarter, and can also be given as a custom training for a specific company, in a convenient time local to your time zone.

ScaleChem Basics (wSCB)

Offered online in 2, 3 hour sessions

This web-based training teaches upstream simulation concepts using OLI's Studio ScaleChem software. Designed and taught by AQSim's AJ Gerbino, this class leads to proficiency in formulating upstream scaling scenarios and using ScaleChem's other specialized calculation modules.
